Emotional Intelligence for Leadership Effectiveness
Emotional Intelligence for Leadership Effectiveness helps leaders strengthen self-awareness, manage emotional responses, and improve the way they communicate, lead, and work with others.
Leaders influence performance not only through strategy, operations, and decisions, but also through their behavior, tone, self-management, and impact on others. When leaders understand their emotional intelligence, they are better prepared to manage pressure, reduce emotional hijacking, build trust, strengthen relationships, and create conditions that support higher performance.
This leadership development course helps participants examine how emotional intelligence affects individual performance, team priorities, stakeholder relationships, and organizational results. Participants explore the role of self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, relationship management, and behavioral impact in daily leadership situations.
The course can be delivered with a simple in-class emotional intelligence survey, the EQ-i 2.0 individual assessment, or the EQ-i 2.0 360 degree feedback process. This allows the experience to be scaled for different audiences, budgets, timeframes, and development goals.

Assessment / Other Details
This course can be delivered with one of three assessment approaches:
Option 1: In-Class Emotional Intelligence Survey
This option uses a practical in-class survey or self-reflection tool. It is appropriate when the organization wants a lighter assessment experience, a shorter implementation timeline, or a broader emotional intelligence workshop without a formal external assessment.
Option 2: EQ-i 2.0 Individual Assessment
Talent Authority uses the EQ-i 2.0 Model for Emotional Intelligence as a preferred emotional intelligence tool. Leaders complete a 131-item online self-rating assessment that takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Participants gain greater self-awareness in five composite areas of emotional intelligence and related behavioral areas.
This option may include an individual report, developmental feedback, action planning, and either a one-on-one coaching debrief or a group workshop designed for participants who have completed the assessment.
Option 3: EQ-i 2.0 360 Degree Feedback
The EQ-i 2.0 360 degree feedback option adds rater feedback so leaders can compare their own view of their emotional intelligence with how others experience them. Raters may include managers, peers, direct reports, family, or other stakeholders. Raters complete the same 131-item assessment and may also respond to optional customized open-ended questions.
The EQ 360 feedback report helps participants deepen their understanding of emotional intelligence strengths, blind spots, and development opportunities. This option may include a 90-minute one-on-one coaching session to review results, identify insight, and create action steps for improving leadership effectiveness.
The assessment pathway can be selected based on the audience, desired depth of feedback, budget, timeline, and whether the organization wants individual insight, team-level learning, or broader 360 degree feedback.
